ABOUT BACUS
BACUS was created and registered as a Charitable Society in Malaysia in the same year. The Society was created to ultimately help revive the dying arts and culture of Indians in Malaysia.
The major objective of the Society is to identify exceptionally talented young Indian students and support them financially to develop their special skill and talents to the maximum. It achieves this by awarding scholarships to outstanding young students to continue their study/research abroad.
The Society also operates a Take-Off-Grant Scheme, under which it grants scholarships and awards to gifted young Indians to carry on their work within the country. In addition, the Society has established links with premier institutions, like the Sangeetha Swara Laya, Malaysia, Kalaikottam, Malaysia, Alagappa Performing Arts Academy, USA and Alagappa University, India.
BACUS awards scholarships to students in Sangeetha Swara Laya and Kalaikottam. The Society also plans to awards scholarships in the area of Theatre, Film Studies and Sports besides Fine Arts and Dance in time to come.
Bharath Arts and Culture Society Malaysia is managed by a group of professionals who are passionately spending their time to revive the slowly vanishing arts and culture of Malaysian Indians in Malaysia. All Malaysian operations and financial assistance are managed through the BACUS Society, set up according to the Malaysian Society regulations concerning charities operating in the country.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Foremost, I would like to congratulate and thank all the members and well wishers associated with BACUS for the successful journey over the years and their ardent efforts which have enabled us to lead to great development of arts and culture in Malaysia.
It’s my great pleasure and honor to serve our community as the President of Bharath Arts And Cultural Society Malaysia (BACUS). I welcome you to our website and take this opportunity to invite you to join us in all the events organized by our Society.
Few aspirant Arts and Cultural Lovers founded BACUS, a non-profit organization, on 5th April 2011 and since then, the organization is growing rapidly every year. The primary objective of this organization is to add to the richness and cultural diversity of the region by fostering the rich cultural heritage of Indians. We work with different charity organizations to support community services; we operate Dance and Music Academies in Malaysia to inculcate Indian traditions and values to our next generation of youth and children; we plan to organize arts and cultural programs bringing world-renowned artists from India to diversify the rich cultural heritage of India in the Malaysia.
I respectfully commend the past executive committees and the Board members who achieved lots of accomplishments through many great ideas and successful initiatives together. The present executive committee and the board members are also committed to carry the flag for continual improvement.
We need your help to accomplish our Promises. We need new faces, young volunteers and experienced people to march through our way. If you are not already a member, I encourage you to become a member and join the community. Your thoughts and comments are very important to us and will help the organization serve the community better. We have many things to do, many miles to go to make BACUS as a vibrant organization in Malaysia. I request for your active support and participation to fulfill our dreams and aspirations.
Yours truly,
Dr. Hariharan Subramaniam
